Yoga  Workshops with Dorna and Matt -

Find Us on FACEBOOK

Here is our current list of Workshops on offer......

We can run these for you at your own events or for Parties and Corporate Events.......

Yoga Sutra – blend of postures (asana), breath/energy (pranayama) practices and relaxation/sleep (nidra) practices – 3 or 4 hours or whole day.

Pranayama – two or three hour breath/energy (pranayama) session – good to start this as a 2 hour practical and then can do a 2-4 hour follow up practical and theoretical session with slideshow to help illustrate the teachings.

Nada Yoga - or Sound Yoga - this taster workshop will introduce exercises that make you aware of 'how you stop the flow of the breath and voice unconsciously' and that by becoming conscious of the Anatomy & Physiology of breathing and vocalising, enables you to consciously reprogram your body back to its 'open state' - 'Be open to receive your full breath and let it carry your voice naturally and powerfully to the world'.

Subtle Body and the Chakras – 3 or 4 hour session with slideshow – usually 40/60%ish theory/practical

Meditation (Mindfulness) – 2 – 3 hour session with a mixture of practices introducing or enhancing meditational practice/experience – Indian/Chinese and Tibetan practices.

Yoga Nidra / Yogic Sleep – 2 hour session – includes some pranayama and chanting to prepare for deeper states of relaxation. We are working on a slideshow to share some of the theory behind the practices which would extend it to 3-4 hours total.

Eye Yoga - 2 hour session with slideshow to share the practices which help to maintain eye health, mental health and concentration.

Thai and Self Massage - a practical and informal 2 hour session sharing Thai and self massage techniques which helps students further understand their asanas, their COG (centre of gravity) and energy flow.

Tai Chi – 2 hour practical session introducing the basic principles of tai chi practice which help students feel grounded and chillaxed, as well as enhancing their understanding of their COG (Centre of Gravity), pranic flow, rooting, lifting, releasing.......principles.

Self Defence – 2 hour practical session - of simple (effective) to more complex techniques (still effective – and which also help to teach students how to further refine their understanding of the borrowing, conservation and release of energy).

Qi Gong/Nei Gung / Energy, Healing and Enlightenment Practices – 2-3 hour practical session which includes classical posturing and breath work using ‘Wai Dan’ methods (cultivating energy externally/from the environment and by isolating body parts in the same way that the asanas of Hatha Yoga do) and ‘Nei Dan’ / Nei Gung (cultivating internally so that energy builds in the abdomen and radiates outward). All the practices strengthen and cleanse the sinews, organs and glands of the body as well as opening deeper channels, most specifically the extra ordinary vessels.

Yogi or Bhogi – Stress Management for All – this isn’t the actual name of the workshop (which will be released soon as at Jan 2016) but a promo line – for a half or full day workshop – practical and theory (with slideshow) – sharing some of the energetics which give rise to energy and vitality or stress and dis-ease. For yogis and non-yogis alike, all ages and walks. This is a great one for Corporates and ideal for whole day or even weekend events.

BRO YOGA - Yoga workshop for men - a two hour mixed practice of postures, breath work and mindfulness practices to help improve flexibility and core strength, internal organ and glandular health/circulation as well as relaxation techniques to promote improved performance in all arenas of life.

Join us in a two hour workshop of mindfulness meditational practices devised to help calm and centre your mind. The session will include some very light physical exercises to help align the body and mind followed by concentration and meditational awareness practices which apply the use of breath and mental exercises to lead the mind inwards to a state of improved clarity, stillness and joy.

This workshop is open to everyone 16 years and older with a little yoga experience required. If you have difficulty sleeping well, rising easily, concentrating effectively and maintaining energy and immune levels, this workshop will help you to identify the root of your ‘challenges’ and provide the means with which to potentially sever the cause/s with sustained practice.

EYE HEALTH WORKSHOP
Sat Dec 5th 2015- Ticket £20
Studio 2 David Lloyd Finchley

From 2-4 pm

After seven years of wearing reading glasses, I could see that my vision was getting worse, especially when removing the glasses. Each year sight was becoming more blurred, eyes more tired and glasses less effective. After practicing eye exercises for only a few week days, I could feel and see slight improvements very swiftly.
For 6 months I did without glasses completely and now follow ‘The Middle Path’ – I wear them when I need to and don’t panic without them. My eyes are less tired and irritable and the program has shown me how our eyes talk to us, asking for rest or exercise.
The practices have a strong effect on the mind; increasing clarity and inducing calm of the entire central nervous system.
This two hour workshop includes some theory and a sequence of exercises which strengthen muscles and tendons and reinvigorate nerve signals to the brain. Practice LITLLE and OFTEN to SEE the Results .

Yoga~Sutra – Workshop

The Training Temple

2.30-5.30pm 11th October 2014

£30 payable to Training Temple

Join us in a three hour sutra (thread) of classical Hatha Yoga practices, combining bahiranga sadhana or external practices which prepare us for antaranga sadhana; the internal practices devised from observation of the natural process of withdrawal of awareness from the ‘superficial ‘ to the ‘real’. Working from the outermost layer of the annamaya kosha (physical body), practices gradually lead the mind from possible states of ‘dissipation’ inwardly, to that of keen and focused attention. The workshop is mostly practical and will be garnished with the odd pinch of theory to clarify or highlight techniques or processes which unfold.

The session will be divided into 1.5 hour asana practice (postures) to warm and prepare the physical body, 1 hour kriyas and pranayamas (cleansing and breathing practices) to flush, reinvigorate and lighten the body and culminates in 1/2 hour internal practices of sensory withdrawal, concentration and meditation, which naturally lead the mind to deep states of inner absorption. Open to students with one or more year’s yoga practice, looking to deepen their experience of inner peace, vitality and joy.

Dance Workshop Sat 25th Jun 9:30 - 12:30, £15

We have come to be danced.
Not the nice invisible, self conscious shuffle,
but the matted hair flying, voodoo mama
shaman-shakin, ancient bones dance.
The strip us from our casings, return our wings
sharpen our claws & tongues dance.
The shed dead cells and slip into
the luminous skin of love dance.
...

We have come to be danced
Where the kingdom's collide
In the cathedral of flesh
To burn back into the light
To unravel, to play, to fly, to pray
To root in skin sanctuary
We have come to be danced

...
(Jewel Mathieson)

‘Developing and Maintaining

a Pranayam Practice’

Presented by Matt Gluck

For Yoga Teachers and Students

Saturday12th June 2010

The Special Yoga Centre. 10am-4pm

2a Wrentham AvenueLondonNW10 3HA

FOR YOGA STUDENTS AND TEACHERS ticket £40

A workshop to inspire practitioners to enjoy the simple nature of breath and to appreciate its role in vitality. The session will incorporate a melange of some of the common methods of pranayam practice, which when combined, promote understanding of how the breath can be used as a gateway to and beyond the mind. Students will be inspired at seeing the ease by which practice can be transformed in to nature. The practice includes a little theory and plenty of practice in an informal and caring environment. Meet friends old and new in a peaceful and loving setting.

~ Practice the techniques safely and effectively in your own time.

~ Gain a basic knowledge of the effects of each technique upon the anatomy and physiology, intellect and psyche.

~ Access this knowledge based upon direct experience, backed up by theory, which you can try and test for yourself in your own time.

~ Apply these methods to promote intense joy, self healing, awareness, strength, alignment and gain the confidence to impart the techniques to students/friends or family, for the good of all.

~ Go home feeling refreshed and reassured that Nature and the Divine are yoked within.

Here are some comments about recent Workshops

Hi Matt,   Thank you for your e-mail and all the generous attachments that came with it ! You are right, there was a real diversity in the room but you did an amazing job of transferring your knowledge at a level that each of us could absorb and also made everyone feel comfortable enough to enquire/ask questions. I feel you gave everyone that fundamental truth that the knowledge is in each of us already and we had a sacred gathering to allow it to unfold gently and beautifully, with your loving and accepting guidance.

  Love and light   Gulcan.

Dorna and Matt,

Thank you so much for such an informative, enjoyable and a healing day.  The de-tox really worked for me as I could experience the cleansing process as soon as the next day.  I am experiencing boundless energy after the event.  I will try my best to attend all your future workshops.

All my friends had a wonderful time and they have told me that they are still enjoying the "feel good factor".

Please keep up the good work.

Best regards, 'I'

Matt and Dorna, thank you for a perfect sunday. I really enjoyed it, and cannot wait to be on retreat with you in May. I will endeavour to come to Saturday classes also. Again, thank you for a wonderful time. with love, Karenx x

Hello Matt & Dorna,   I would like to say again that I did enjoy the workshop, and I hope you will continue to branch out with more. Lunch and tea were also fabulous and plenty of it...if you are able to send me the address of where you ordered it from (Hare Krisna Bhaktivedanta Manor Letchmore Heath) I would be most grateful. I wish you both Success & Happiness...!

Kind Regards
Antonella
